The Hanshin 5001 series was a local train manufactured between 1977 and 1981. Designed for operation over short distances between stations, it possessed high acceleration and deceleration capabilities, earning it the nickname "Jet Car." Its acceleration was among the highest levels in Japanese railways.
Due to its two-tone color scheme of "cream" and "ultramarine blue," it was also known as the "Blue-bodied Train." With the introduction of successor trains, its numbers decreased, and it was sadly retired in March 2025.
