Information
The Hanshin 5131 series was a commuter train for local services, manufactured between 1981 and 1983 to replace the non-air-conditioned 5231 series.
The car body was identical to the 5001 series, and the control equipment included armature choppers and regenerative braking, contributing to energy conservation.
Initially, it was a two-car train, but when local trains were converted to four-car trains, the train was reconfigured and destination signs were installed.
With the introduction of the 5550 series and the latest 5700 series, the 5131 series began to be retired, and the series was discontinued with the retirement of the 5131 train set in 2019.
