Izukyu 2100 Series Resort 21 Kurofune Train (New Logo Mark)
8 Cars Set
Information
In 1985, Izukyu introduced the 2100 series "Resort 21" as a new model to replace the 100 series introduced at the time of the opening of the line. As a vehicle suitable for a tourist route running along the coast, it gained popularity as a train incorporating various ideas that far exceeded conventional wisdom, such as a streamlined front, theater-style observation seats that allow you to enjoy the view from the front, different designs on the sea side and mountain side, and seats installed facing outward so that you can see the sea through the large windows. The 2100 series was increased, and in 1990, the fourth train, the R-4 train "Resort 21EX", was introduced. The fourth train is characterized by the absence of window pillars on the front window glass, the pantograph changed to a lower frame cross type, and the coupling of a special car called the "Royal Box" during the train formation. The train was later remodeled and a pantograph was added to Moha 2114, and in 2006, the train was repainted as the "Black Ship Train (2nd generation)" to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the opening of Shimoda Port at the end of the Edo period. In February 2019, the train was renovated and the logo on the side of the car was changed.
