Sangi Railway Deki 202

Information
Sangi Railway Sangi Line is a line that connects Tomita Station in Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture to Nishi-Fujiwara in Inabe City. In addition to passenger transport, the line also plays an important role in freight transport, connecting Higashi-Fujiwara Station and JR Kansai Main Line. Construction of Chubu Centrair International Airport, which began in 2000, transported construction materials from Higashi-Fujiwara Station to Yokkaichi Port on the JR line. This resulted in a large increase in the number of freight trains, and since the existing locomotives alone could not meet the demand, two locomotives from Oigawa Railway and two locomotives from Chichibu Railway were transferred to the Sangi Line as helpers. The Deki 200 type 202 and 203 transferred from Chichibu Railway have a larger output than other locomotives, and were used to switch freight cars at Higashi-Fujiwara Station and Tomita Station. Deki 202 was also equipped with a mounting base for a snowplow and was used as a snow removal locomotive. Construction materials were transported until 2003. Additionally, DEKI 202 and 203 were scrapped in 2011.
