Information
The JR Tokai 300 series is a Shinkansen train that appeared in 1992. In addition to weight reduction by adopting an aluminum alloy body and a body shape with excellent aerodynamic characteristics, many technologies such as bolsterless bogies, VVVF inverter control, regenerative braking, etc. are incorporated for the first time as a Shinkansen, achieving a maximum operating speed of 270km / h. did. The maximum speed of the Tokaido Shinkansen, which had been 220km/h until then, was increased by 50km/h, making its debut as a new type "Nozomi" connecting Tokyo and Shin-Osaka in 2 hours and 30 minutes at the fastest speed. it was done. After that, improvements were made around the pantograph, and along with improving ride comfort and noise, the appearance evolved into a smarter appearance.
With the introduction of the 500 series and 700 series, it continued to be used as the "Hikari" and "Kodama" even after the "Nozomi" operation was retired, contributing to the speeding up of the train by taking advantage of its inherent performance. The 16-car train remained unchanged until the very end, and with the timetable revision in March 2012, it retired enthusiastically while retaining the dignity of the first Nozomi.
The first generation "Nozomi" 300 series, which pioneered an era of 2 hours and 30 minutes between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka, and later supported the speeding up of the Tokaido Shinkansen. At KATO, we will commercialize the final form "Nozomi type vehicle" improved to a single arm pantograph on the 30th anniversary of the start of operation and the 10th anniversary of retirement.
