Information
The Hanshin 1000 series was manufactured between 2006 and 2011, designed to enable through-service operations onto the Kintetsu Nara Line following the opening of the Hanshin Namba Line.
Adopting a fresh design intended to serve as the new face of Hanshin, the train features a 19-meter-class stainless-steel body with three doors per side, accented with orange—a color associated with Hanshin's premium train services. These trains operate as premium services—typically in 6-car formations, sometimes coupled with additional 2-car sets—and run through to the Sanyo Electric Railway and Kintetsu Nara lines.
In March 2019, to commemorate a mutual cooperation agreement with Taiwan's Taoyuan Metro, the company began operating a "wrapped" train featuring designs that highlight the unique characteristics of the areas along the Taoyuan Metro line, including local culture, cuisine, tourist attractions, and indigenous species.
