The Hanshin 1000 series was manufactured between 2006 and 2011 as a train compatible with through service to the Kintetsu Nara Line following the opening of the Hanshin Namba Line.
As a train that represents the face of Hanshin, it adopted a new design, featuring a 19-meter-long stainless steel, three-door body with orange accents, the color associated with Hanshin's express trains.
The Hanshin 9000 series is an express commuter train that appeared in 1996, and is the first stainless steel train since the 5201 series, known as "Jet Silver."
