●EF58 No. 61 was designated as a locomotive exclusively for the Imperial train from the time it was ordered in July 1953. Its body is painted a deep crimson color known as "tameiro," and boasts a beautiful exterior with a stainless steel decorative strip and an unpainted, polished undercarriage.
It has pulled Imperial trains on numerous occasions since the Showa era, and has also been active in a variety of events, including pulling the Orient Express '88 in 1988.
