The N700 series 2000 series is a type of N700 series that was modified to reflect some of the functions of the later-released N700A Shinkansen and renumbered, and continues to be used today. The logo mark on the side has been changed to a logo with a smaller letter "A" added next to "N700", and it is affectionately known as "Small A" by fans. They are operated as "Nozomi", "Hikari", and "Kodama" on the Tokaido/Sanyo Shinkansen.
