●The N700-6000 series debuted in September 2025 to replace the 500 and 700 series trains that had primarily operated as "Kodama" services on the Sanyo Shinkansen line. These trains were created by shortening the 16-car N700-5000 series ("Small A") to an 8-car configuration, adding pantographs, and sealing off some passenger windows. They retain the classic white body with a blue stripe, and the former Green Car has been repurposed as a reserved-seating car while maintaining its original seating layout.
As of February 2026, the P4 set—converted from the K4 set—is the only unit currently in service, but plans are in place to convert and introduce a total of ten sets.

By adopting a newly developed slotless motor, it demonstrates smoother and quieter running performance than existing motors.
