The KOKI 71 container freight car was manufactured in 1994 to transport automobile products from Nagoya Freight Terminal Station. The exterior is unique, consisting of a thin trolley with bolster-less air springs equipped with small wheels of 610 mm in diameter, and a huge semicircular-shaped cover placed on a low-floor chassis. Inside, there are two UM20A-30000 type car rack containers. Individually delivered. The UM20A-30000 can be unfolded or folded, and when unfolded (outbound) it can carry 4 or 5 cars, and when folded (return) it can carry 12ft containers. Basically, two consecutively numbered cars are connected by a permanent coupler. Eight vehicles, including a prototype, were manufactured and operated in the San'in and Niigata areas, but operations ended in the 2000s.
