The old passenger car formation belonging to the Takasaki driving office, which appeared as an event train with the revival of EF55, has been commercialized.
When the EF55 was reinstated in 1986, some of the old-fashioned passenger cars that had survived all over the country were gathered in the Takasaki Passenger Car District (currently the Gunma Car Center) in order to operate on the main line. The train began operating as an event train. In addition to the EF55, it was towed by D51 498, DD51, EF58, etc., and became popular for its organization and nostalgic interior reminiscent of Showa passenger trains. Among them, the rescue vehicle Sue 78, which is a modified postal cargo vehicle originating from the war damage recovery vehicle, attracted attention due to its appearance with a 3-axle bogie truck and a body with a unique window arrangement.
