Information
The 485 series 3000 series is a limited express train that appeared in 1996 as a result of renewal work to the 485 series 1000 series.
Vehicles placed at the Niigata Vehicle Center were mainly used on the limited express "Hokuetsu" and "Inaho", as well as on rapid trains.
Some formations were active even after the end of the "Hokuetsu" service in 2015, but in 2017 they retired from operation on the special rapid service between Niigata and Itoigawa.
