●The "Karamatsu" is an overnight local train that runs 428.7 km between Otaru and Kushiro via the Hakodate Main Line and the Nemuro Main Line. Although it is an ordinary train, it is equipped with B-class sleeping cars, and was given the nickname "Karamatsu" so that these B-class sleeping cars could be reserved using the MARS system for seat management and ticketing. It was discontinued with the timetable revision in 1980, and was the first overnight local train to lose its name.
◆KATO's passenger train lineup will be the second in the "night local" series following the "Sanin" and will be releasing the "Karamatsu" that ran in Hokkaido. It is also possible to recreate the formation seen at the end of the series by freely replacing the cars with the "5140 Mani 50" that is scheduled to be reproduced at the same time.
