By remodeling freight cars TORA 23000 and TORA 35000, freight car TORA 90000 was manufactured in the quantity of 2,436 cars since 1964. TORA 90000 was characterized by the light green wiring netting frame added on top of wooden side flaps in order to carry bulky and tiny wood chips effectively by increasing the volume to carry. When it rained, the chips were covered by sheet to prevent them from scatering and soaking rain and becoming heavier.

Kato will make and release an optional part, wire netting cover frame, which will represent TORA 90000 in the state of carrying no cargo.

Kato’s latest plastic injection technology can reproduce such fine wire netting that you can see through it when no cargo is inside. In combination with the already released #8062 TORA 90000 filled with wood chips, you can either represent the freight car loaded or unloaded with wood chips carried as material for paper.
