The 21000 series "Urban Liner" appeared in 1988 as a non-stop express service connecting Kintetsu Namba (currently Osaka Namba) to Kintetsu Nagoya.
Renovated from 2003 to 2005, it became barrier-free and the seats were renewed to become “Urban Liner Plus”, and a beige belt was added to the car body.
