●The DB Class ET425 is an AC electric trainset used for regional transport across Germany—serving areas such as Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Hanover, and Berlin—where it operates as "Regional-Express" services (comparable to "Rapid" trains in Japan) and S-Bahn lines. A total of 249 units were introduced between 1999 and 2008 to replace the older Class ET420 and locomotive-hauled passenger trains. These four-car articulated trainsets feature lightweight aluminum bodies and can be operated in multiple-unit formations when necessary.
