●The Taki 43000 series is a freight car designed exclusively for transporting gasoline, with a capacity of 43 tonnes, introduced in 1967.
In 1989, a 44-tonne capacity variant was introduced; these cars featured larger tanks made possible by weight reductions in various components and were assigned car numbers in the 200,000 range.
Initially, all cars were owned by Japan Oil Transportation and featured an all-black livery; however, subsequent additions to the fleet adopted the same green-and-gray two-tone color scheme used on the Taki 1000 series.
