Information
The Sagami Railway's ED11 is a 45-ton box-type electric locomotive manufactured by Toyo Electric in 1952. Its body has a distinctive rounded shape with a deck, and it was equipped with DT13 bogies and a 128kW MT30 main motor. The ED12 was added in 1953 and, unlike the ED11 which had metal sashes, it had H-rubber supported windows. It was used for transporting tanks from Sagami-Otsuka to the US Navy Atsugi base, transporting gravel from the Sagami River, and transporting Onoda cement to Atsugi, but freight transport was discontinued in September 1998, and in its later years it was used for transporting new and out-of-service rolling stock. It ceased operation in 2007, and only the ED11 is preserved statically at the Kashiwadai Rolling Stock Center.
