Information
The KiHa 10 series was a diesel railcar with driver's cabs at both ends and no toilets, introduced for single-car operation during off-peak hours or for adding to KiHa 17 series trains. It operated in formations with many KiHa 16/17 and KiHa 20/30/55/58 series trains on many lines, but was also used for single-car operation on branch lines such as the Itsukaichi Line and Futamata Line.
It was retired around 1980, replaced by the KiHa 40 series.
