●The 287 series is a DC express train developed by JR West based on the 683 series-4000 series, and is currently in service as the "Kounotori" and "Kuroshio" trains. To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the launch of the "Kuroshio" express train in 2025, a 60th anniversary wrapping train began operating in July of the same year. This wrapping is based on the design of the 381 series "Super Kuroshio" which has been in operation since 1989, and is scheduled to run until February 2026.

By adopting a newly developed slotless motor, it demonstrates smoother and quieter running performance than existing motors.
