●- The NSE (3100 series) was introduced in 1963 as part of an effort to increase tourist transportation capacity. While inheriting specifications such as a low center of gravity and articulated structure from the previous SE car (3000 series), the driver's seat was installed on the second floor in the leading car, making it a more deluxe vehicle with a viewing car at the front. From 1977 to the following year, air conditioning units were added to improve air conditioning capacity. After the introduction of the new LSE (7000 series) in 1983, the car body was repaired, and various renovations were carried out, such as changing the front nickname display to an automatic winding type and shape (pentagonal to rectangular), changing the position of some doors to accommodate the expansion of the cafe and shop corner, and changing the outer cover to a urethane core type.
