JRF EH800 (without JRF mark)
information
●The JR Freight EH800 is the first dual-voltage AC electric locomotive since the transition to JR, replacing the ED79 and EH500, which will no longer be operational on the Tsugaru Kaikyo Line due to the opening of the Hokkaido Shinkansen between Shin-Aomori and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto. It features an LCX antenna, a train radio system similar to that used on the Shinkansen, on the two end car bodies, giving it a distinctive bulge. In addition to pulling freight trains between Higashi-Aomori and Goryokaku, it also pulled the "Cassiopeia Cruise" group train from June 2016 to February 2017. Since undergoing general inspections in 2022, the JRF markings on the sides have been gradually removed, the running equipment paint has been changed, and the undercarriage has been repainted dark gray.
