The Nagareyama Line of Nagareyama Railway (formerly Sobu Nagareyama Electric Railway) is a 5.7km line connecting Mabashi Station to Nagareyama Station in Chiba Prefecture. Established as a "community railway" by local volunteers for the local community, it has been a beloved local transportation service for over 100 years, dating back to the Taisho era.
The current 5000 series trains are modified versions of the new 101 series acquired from Seibu Railway, and a total of five train sets have been introduced since 2010. These colorful two-car trains have each a different nickname and livery.
