The Kinuura Rinkai Railway KE65 class locomotive is the same type as the JNR DE10 class, of which four cars, Nos. 1 to 3 and 5, were manufactured at the time the railway opened.
Nos. 2 and 5 were sold in 1984, but due to the subsequent increase in freight transport volume, two former JNR DE10 class locomotives were introduced in 1990, becoming the second generation Nos. 2 and 5.
Currently, Nos. 1, 3 and 5 are in service on the railway.
