●The E657 series was introduced in 2011 as an AC/DC limited express electric train for the Joban Line, and remains the line's flagship limited express train to this day.
To coincide with the Ibaraki Destination Campaign in 2023, the E657 series has been repainted in the image of the classic E653 series "Fresh Hitachi," attracting the attention of many railway fans, not just those living along the line. The actual train is available in a total of five colors, and KATO will be releasing the yellow-painted K2 train as the third in their lineup.
◆This train is ideal for running alongside trains in service at JR East, or as part of a collection of the five colors currently in progress.

By adopting a newly developed slotless motor, it demonstrates smoother and quieter running performance than existing motors.
