Information
The Hoki 1000 is a hopper car dedicated to transporting 35-ton "fly ash" and "calcium carbonate."
The hopper section is designed to be as large as possible within the vehicle's limits, and is characterized by its "kamaboko" (fish cake) shape.
A prototype appeared in May 1990, and mass-produced cars with some improvements appeared in October of the same year.
By 1995, 34 cars, including prototypes, had been manufactured, and these cars are nicknamed "White Hokis" due to the color of their bodies.
The model is based on the mass-produced cars "Hoki 1000-1~31" and "Pacific Cement" in their original state.
