information
The Tokyo Waterfront New Transit Waterfront Line is a new transit system (AGT) line that opened between Shimbashi Station and Ariake Station in November 1995, and is affectionately known as the "New Transit Yurikamome."
In 2006, the line was extended from Ariake Station to Toyosu Station, providing access to Shimbashi Station and Toyosu Station, which are transfer stations between the Odaiba and Ariake areas of Tokyo's waterfront.
The New Transit Yurikamome 7300 series train began operation in January 2014, and was a full model change to replace the existing 7000 series and 7200 series trains, with 18 six-car trains introduced.
The exterior was designed with a bright and stylish image in mind, aiming to create a futuristic vehicle suitable for the symbol of the waterfront new city center, and was designed with the theme of "comfortable travel space" for all customers, and won the 2014 Good Design Award.
In addition, to alleviate congestion during events and when development occurs along the line, each car is equipped with two double-sided passenger doors on each side and all-long seats, allowing for more passengers than conventional cars.
