KATO's RhB series has expanded and enriched its passenger car lineup, starting with the Glacier Express, Bernina Express, and EW-I, but an even more essential vehicle is the EW-I series power baggage car. RhB, which has world-famous tourist destinations along its lines, is often used by passengers carrying large luggage, such as for cycling in the summer and skiing in the winter, so baggage cars are attached on most routes. The product model is a vehicle manufactured in 1980, and is part of a group that was modified around 2009 with the addition of a pantograph. When the train is long, such as 12 cars, the pantograph collects electricity and provides auxiliary power for heating and air conditioning.
