The KoKi 106 series is a marine container-compatible vehicle manufactured from 1997 onwards.
When they were introduced the body colour was blue, but from 1999 onwards the body colour was changed to grey, and the blue cars were gradually changed to grey as well.
In recent years the "JRF" markings and "No Thrust" signs on the sides have been omitted.
Container freight trains that mainly run in cold regions sometimes have LED tail lights installed at the rear of the trains instead of reflectors.
