The Tsumu 1000 is a ventilated freight car manufactured from 1962, used to transport fresh foods such as vegetables without damage.
To prevent fresh vegetables and fruits from becoming steamy, the car has vents not only on the sides and end panels but also on the floor, which, combined with the ventilator on the roof, greatly increases ventilation and prevents damage to the cargo. It was particularly useful for transporting cabbages and lettuces shipped to the metropolitan area from areas along the Koumi Line, which is famous for its highland vegetables.
