Information
The EH500 series is a two-car coupled AC/DC electric locomotive that JR Freight began operating in March 2000.
The EH500 series, belonging to the Sendai General Railway Division, is mainly used to pull freight trains between the Tokyo metropolitan area and Tohoku.
Units 1 and 2 are known as the primary model, and are characterized by head and tail lights at the bottom of the front, a large JRF mark, and the Kintaro logo placed high up.
Unit 2 has currently been changed to have the same Kintaro logo as regular vehicles without the JRF mark, while Unit 1 is still in service in its conventional form.
