The passenger compartment is a 20m-class 4-door design based on the E235 series and the driver's cab is based on the E129 series, and is a 1M system that allows for flexible formation. The interior has irregular semi-cross seats, and the exterior features blue side stripes reminiscent of the Boso sea and yellow rapeseed flowers, and the front is decorated with polka dots reminiscent of wave spray. It is used on the Kashima Line, Uchibo Line, Sotobo Line, etc., and some trains are operated with two trains coupled together to form a 4-car formation.
