Information
The 381 series was the first commercial pendulum express train developed by JNR, and made its debut on the limited express Shinano in 1973 when the Chuo-West Line was electrified.
The Kuha 381-0 type, which is the lead vehicle of the through type, had the same structure as the Kuhane 581 type, but had a style in which the through passage was hidden with an outer door.
