Information
The FEF-3 is a large passenger steam locomotive operated by the American giant railroad company Union Pacific Railroad.
It was used for passenger towing, but with the rise of diesel locomotives around 1950, it continued to be used for the last time mainly for freight towing.
The dynamic preservation machine #844 is currently based at the Cheyenne Engine Depot in Wyoming, and is active in pulling event trains. The Excursion Train is an event train consisting of seven cars that have been modified and preserved from the 1950s, when railway passenger transportation was flourishing. It transports the personnel and equipment necessary to support operations, and introduces the Union Pacific Railroad. There is a museum car, a power supply car, and at the end a passenger car called a business car with an observation deck. Additionally, when running an event train, the excursion train is connected to a water tender that carries water, which is essential for steam locomotive operation.
