-The sleeper express ``Nihonkai'' is a train that has been running between Osaka and Aomori via the Nihonkai Jukan Line, which runs through Hokuriku, Echigo, and Uetsuji for 63 years since its birth in 1950. With the timetable revision in October 1968, it was added to the group of sleeper express trains, and various vehicles such as the 20 series sleeper passenger car and the 14 series sleeper passenger car were used as the ``Sea of Japan''. At the end of its life, it was composed of the 24 series belonging to JR East Aomori Station, and regular service ended in 2012, and special train service ended the following year in 2013.
