Information
Since the Meiji era, railroads have long been used to transport mail. Passenger trains are often connected to postal cars, and they can be broadly divided into "handling services," in which mail and parcels are loaded and unloaded at each station while staff sort the mail in the compartments, "escort services," in which only the cargo is loaded and unloaded without sorting, and "deadline services," in which the cargo is only transported from the departure station to the destination station. The Suyu 15 is a 110km/h escort service and a deadline service, and features a form that looks like a luggage car without a compartment inside the car. -The product is a group that can be called the early mass production type (from 2002 to 2018) manufactured since 1978, and is characterized by a form that conforms to the 14 series passenger car. The Mani 30 (second generation) is a cargo vehicle for cash transport, with six cars manufactured from 1978 to the following year. Due to its use, it has no windows in the luggage compartment and has special wireless equipment, which is a characteristic of its appearance. The operation was abolished in 2003, and the last number 2012 is now statically preserved at the Otaru City Museum. Mani 30-2007 was used mainly in the Kansai area after the division and privatization of JNR, and was often witnessed to be connected to the end of a freight train, especially in the Shikoku area, where the diesel locomotive alone pulled this vehicle alone over a long distance.
