EF58-60 Royal Locomotive Reserve

Information
EF58-60 is a locomotive which was ordered in July, 1953 as a royal locomotive along with the colleague locomotive EF58 61. The locomotive boasts a beautiful appearance with body painted crimson and adorned with stainless steel decorative belt and the unpainted and brightly polished under parts.

The royal locomotive is separated between No. 61 on duty and No. 60 for reserve. The latter turned later into a normal locomotive. But it maintained the unique painting and decoration and continued to be a star in Hamamatsu engine depot.

It was the last opportunity for No. 60 to run as a reserve locomotive in the royal train when the Emperor traveled to the tree-planting ceremony in Aichi in 1979 before it retired in 1980

From this production model, the product is equipped with Arnold coupler (Kato knuckle coupler included for exchange), the lighting unit turns into bulb color LED.
