●The express trains "Kaimon" and "Nichinan" were overnight express trains that were active in Kyushu in the 1970s. "Kaimon" ran from Mojiko to Nishi-Kagoshima (now Kagoshima-Chuo) via the Kagoshima Main Line, while "Nichinan" ran the same section via the Nippo Main Line. The trains were characterized by their composition of 20-series sleepers, 12-series express passenger cars, and mail and baggage cars, and the 20-series sleepers were modified to be connected to the 12-series, which had a different power supply system, and were named the 1000 and 2000 series.
