ED75 appeared in 1963 (1963) as a standard type AC electric locomotive of JNR, and it showed the same traction power as the F type DC electric locomotive despite the D type, and ordinary trains from the blue train in various AC electrified sections, It was widely used to tow freight trains.
A total of 91 cars were manufactured from 1971 along with the electrification between Akita and Aomori on the Ouba Main Line.
