Information
The bed line express “Hamanasu” that connects Aomori and Sapporo across the Seikan Tunnel appeared in 1988 when the Seikan Tunnel opened. Currently it is the last regular express train in Japan and is the only overnight passenger express.
The current organization is basically a 7-car train consisting mainly of a 14-seat car and two sleeping cars connected, but during busy periods, it can be seen that it has been added to a maximum of 12 cars.
